What is your protocol when your computer freezes?

I woke up this morning to a frozen computer. Well, almost frozen. I was able to get "delete cookies" to work." Now things seem to be working normally. When deleting my cookies and temporary files does not work, I reboot my computer.
What is your protocol when your computer freezes? Or moves slowly, like a glacier?

Computing 101 - turn it off and on again! If that doesn't work, I'll have a look in the settings or check if the problem is with the computer or something else (e.g. a website or a connected device).
At my old job, I'd often get asked to check IT stuff. The actual IT people would also asked if you'd trying rebooting everything. They did, eventually, stop asking me that as they knew I'd only come to them if I'd tried everything. On fact, it got to the point where I'd tell them what I'd tried and they wouldn't have thought of it

When I used a computer I did those things too. I use an iPad now.

When my computer freezes, I freeze too momentarily.
Then it is collecting my thoughts and fighting back against the wall.
I start with control, alter, delete, switch off, and wait for a while.
I have virus prevention programs, CCleaner, etc. as a bulwark against "organized crime", aimed at my computer.
I frantically check solutions on the internet too through other devices.

Knock on wood. I haven't had that problem in about a year or so. Have a good day.

First thing , yes delete the cookies and the uninstll any programs that is not required for now. I would ensure all the items in recycle bin is deleted. Have less items in C drive as well as on downloads and desktop. If there are large files in these locations , that can slow the computer. Will then run an anti virus tool. If still it does not help, I would try the restore point which was saved in the past. If nothing else works , talk to a technician and if the computer is more than 5 years old and had been constant usage , get a new one! These are the steps I do or did follow upto this point. Enjoy the day!

So far this computer does not do that. I am thankful. I used to have to regularly do "Ctrl-alt-delete" and get rid of stuff.

When that happens - not often though - I calm down and call my technician
