Unexpected Pregnancy

So I was getting a cupping/massage last Monday, and the acupuncturist doing it seemed a little subdued. She’s a talker, so I tried to match her energy and not talk to much. She then let the news escape that she was pregnant, but it was unexpected (she and her husband have an 18 month old). She hadn’t told her family yet, and she was preparing herself to break the news at Thanksgiving. She was kind of in the phase of, I’m not thrilled, but I fully acknowledge when this baby gets here I’ll be over the moon happy. And she did say she and her husband were talking about how their daughter needed someone to play with. The first trimester nausea was getting to her, and she was hoping for some second trimester relief. I told her if she ever needed anything before one of my sessions to just text me and I’d bring it (she and her husband often share a car). I hope she feels better as time goes on; last time she said her nausea gradually faded. I think right now she’s overwhelmed.

I hope she feels better now and no more nausea. I don’t like to have a talkative masseuse. I can’t relax.

I usually can, but I admit I didn’t relax that day. Her tension kind of transferred to me.

@AmbiePam Aww. We often pick up the energy of others, especially as sensitive individuals. I find it easy to sense the emotions of those around me.

She’s going to have to give up her hobby of refurnishing furniture too for awhile. She was trying to make that a side business, but she can’t mess with those fumes.

Me too, and I really hope she’s able to just take stock of her blessings and realize how much she has going for her right now.

I hope she lets you bring her something and share in her joy as time progresses. That will be another Thanksgiving blessing to share for her family.

I don't doubt she's overwhelmed - on top of the nausea going on right now. My friend said he was an unexpected kiddo . . . calls himself a "hiccup" baby .

That is so exciting that she confided the happy news with you. I only had 1 episode of morning sickness during each of my pregnancies. I was lucky. I did not feel well during my second pregnancy, but it was because I was catching everything going around, the tummy flu, and terrible early autumn cold, stuff like that.

Getting pregnant can really cause issues. Especially if you weren't expecting it or taking precautions to prevent it. I am sure she'll be fine though.

I was in a car accident decades ago that messed up my neck and back. So she really works on my shoulders, back, and occasionally my neck. It helps a lot.
