I don't know what happened to my wrist

I woke up last week with my right wrist hurting. It was the morning after my night of being so sick with puking, fever, chills, etc. I KNOW I didn't trip/fall because I spent that entire evening/night in bed.
In any case it is swollen and still hurts almost a week later. I was hoping that it would just improve but that hasn't happened. The fact that it is my right wrist makes it more noticeable because that is my dominant hand.
I can still do what I need to do but I'm concerned that the swelling hasn't improved and it is still painful. I have 2 hours of tutoring tomorrow after work so I don't have time to go to the clinic. I actually have 2 hours of tutoring on Tuesday too. I guess the earliest I can go for an x-ray is Wednesday. Hopefully it will be better by then.
I cannot imagine what I could have done to cause this. It never ends.

Have you had a bone density scan yet? They’re going to do one on me soon because my hand x-rays last week showed osteopenia in both hands. Welcome to middle age, darlin’. You’ll find it sucks. In fact, the best thing I can say about it is I’ve received a free anatomy course because every time I go to the doctor they tell me that it’s a body part that I didn’t previously know existed that’s causing the pain.

@NJChicaa — dexa scans don’t hurt. All you have to do is lie flat for about ten minutes.

@FourWalls oh I'm not afraid of pain. I can do bloodwork, scans, etc. I will refuse an endoscopy or nerve puncture. But it is all moot since I avoid the doctor as much as I can.

Sometimes I hurt my hand and wrist in my sleep. I wake up with it contorted and I am laying on it. Not fun. I hope it gets better on its own.

Gee, I have no idea. I have had sudden things pop up but luckily in a short time they have gone away,

I wonder what you've done. You could hardly have hurt it in bed unless you slept too soundly too long with it at a funny angle.
