Portrait of Taz - Entering the Final Phase

Okay, now that we've seen the finish of Pirate Bear (last discussion), let's go back to Taz and start to wrap things up.
When last we saw this portrait, I had started the final "modeling" (using lights and darks to portray the three-dimensional form), and I had done a color correction to balance the warm and cool tones of the figure. Now I have finished painting the "cool side" on the left an have moved on to do the basic modeling on the warm side.
I haven't gotten all the way to the "finishing touches" yet, but as you can see, Taz now has whiskers on the right-hand side, as well, and if not for the pink nose and tongue not being painted, yet, you might even think the painting is finished. I'm a fan of detail, though, so there's still a way to go. I do want it to look like a painting, so it's not going to the level of photorealism, but I will try to bring it to a level of crispness that makes it look fully-rendered and more three-dimensional and lifelike.

Yep! Haven't done a full painted portrait in years. I usually work in other media, like colored pencil, pastel, and graphite. Painting takes me forever, as you can tell by how far apart these posts are.

@AliCanary But it's not supposed to be fast. LOL. And cats can be hard to paint because their colors require a lot more debth.

@kaylachan - yes, especially tabbies because of the patterns as well as the different colors and tones. It's definitely been a challenge!

@AliCanary That's great news but I'm not surprised. It's a lovely painting.

Thanks! He received the painting today, actually, and he immediately messaged me to say how much he loved it. I was so happy!
