Comfort Food

Comfort food means different things to different people.
Poultry is high on my list of comfort food, both chicken as well as turkey. It just makes me feel better overall.
It is another cloudy, dismal day here. When I took my walk I felt the cold go right through me. I am having a hard time shaking that and warming back up.
I dug through the deep freezer looking for something to take out to thaw for supper. I found a little turkey breast and some drumsticks.
There we go, both dark as well as light meat, and it is on my list of comfort food. What are you having for supper tonight?

@LadyDuck I was glad that we had a bit of leftovers last night.
Ron went to see a doctor yesterday and they told him that his Ontario Health Card had expired.
We always get notices for renewals for those as well as our driver's licenses every 5 years.
I asked him to check his driver's license and it also expired at his birthday in February.
I had to drive him 25 minutes to the office where they take your photo and renew your documents.
He has temporary ones until the permanent cards arrive in the mail, although Canada Post is on strike currently.

Happy Birthday to Diana!
My husband was glued to the television all day long as the Lions were playing, and our son is in Pittsburg at a football game there. He should be on his way home by now I imagine.
I was bored today and did some 'window shopping' online.
I have no ideas for a gift for Jonathon & Klaudia, they are impossible to buy for.
We offered to buy them a new washer and dryer last year for Christmas, they do alot of laundry with the twins, but he told me that he wanted to get another year or two out of the set that was in the house when they bought it.
Last week they acquired a new to them washing machine from the freecycle site, and I was looking for a new dryer for them. I went out and shopped in person, and after I view the one that they have, and see the exact colour, then I will go and buy the one that I looked at this afternoon. They have a dark grey one, but I think that flat black will go with it since that colour of grey puts the dryer well over $1,000 and I am not willing to pay that for a Christmas gift.

@AmbiePam I know that they need a new dryer, and it just makes sense to buy them something practical for Christmas since they can, and do buy themselves non-essentials on their own.
He should be home from the game around 8:30 tonight, I'm sure that Harper will be fast asleep, but Willow is such a Daddy's girl, that she may be lying in her bed waiting to hear his voice.

We are getting rain. Something cinnamony is comforting to me. Or chocolate.

Its that time of year when I gravitate toward more comfort foods. Comfort food just seems to make those cold dreary winter days more bearable.
Next week is our Thanksgiving so there will be lots of food and I always enjoy the leftovers.

@Juliaacv Black Friday sales are going on here and it seems as if they've started earlier this year. I might be mistaken but it usually was the day after Thanksgiving and not a week or so ahead. I actually took advantage and got a new stove and saved quite a few hundred dollars.

We had a southwest seasoned chicken soup I made. And garlic bread. And guacamole. Soups, chili, and potatoes all count for comfort food for me.
