Yep. Holiday tomorrow. All public transportation is adjusted to Sunday's time of arrival therefore, i will be having second Sunday tomorrow and really don't like that. But, maybe that's just me. O, well, i'll direct my thoughts to my Saturday's/yesterday's medical massage. I chose this type due to shoulder, upper back, arm problems.
I must say, I've only endured classical massage and 12-15 years ago but medical, where you feel like you feel bones that weren't there and feeling them being crushed then, yes, this was my first time.
I arrieved earlier. Took a walk about 10 minutes and decided to enter 15 minutes before my actual massage. I entered, lady in her 30s or early 40s said hello, opening me doors but i closed doors behind on my own and hung my clothes. Before entering building, a residential building, i saw it says it was a cosmetic salon or beauty center, whatever you prefer it and there was an older lady having her hair dyed, i think.
She had aluminium foil on her hedd/hair so i realised this was one person job or just on Saturdays, who knows. I waited 2-3 minutes on a chair and then entered the small room and was instructed to take off my upper clothes and lay back. That part was a bit strange; i am glad i was left alone and i laid there on my belly until she showed up. She asked me a couple of question about why did i come, then do i live close and similar ones.
She maybe wanted to chat but i was okay even without it. I asked her also some questions about this kind of massage and that was it. Not sure if she did my massage for exactly 30 minutes but she touched really sensitive spots for me and when she started massaging my arm, my hand/palm started jerking a bit. I guess my pain for 3 months was real and my body was responding to it.
At the beginning, she said she also goes on massage due to her job. I mean, she had strong hands, which was needed and suggested me or unspecificially saying that a massage for 3-4 weeks, each week, should be okay and that i would pay the same amount each time as this time. After that, massage every month should do.
On the other hand, she perhaps wanted to make a profit just, after being done with my massage and leaving me, she didn't show any effort. She sat near the foil lady and took her cell, lookingat something and i felt strange before opening the doors and leaving so i thanked her again and said goodbye. I even thanked her before she finished massaging me and she only added she hopes it was good.
And yesterday and today, my upper back hurts, shoulders but i know it's normal after this, i believe. I just don't know if i should schedule myself again next week or wait to feel painless which is realistically in 2 weeks.
What is your massage experience?

@grenery8 I'm sorry you feel down. It might be normal with a deep tissue massage.

@LindaOHio thank you for not judging. i told her it was my first time and i also told her later, i think that i feel some pain but i hope it's a good pain. i feel ashamed and emotionally hurt cause, only bad things happen to me. she didn't even introduce herself, told how long she's in her business and all other important things. i also told something you're the professional, inviting her to say something. if i started asking 100 questions, she could have turned rude, i think.
it might be normal but i wasn't told anything. i read online it's not normal. gosh, why always some bad stuff.

Yes, it’s normal to be sore from that kind of work being done on you. But 3 to 4 massages a week at first, and then one monthly? When I first started, mine told me once a week for four weeks, then once a month or as needed. And I was better after that. But your pain is different and probably requires different treatment. You’re smart; do what feels reasonable.

o, sorry, i meant that. yes, i'm sore. i don't know my issues that well; doctors only referred me to specialist and i need to get appointment, still waiting so i want to help myself in the meantime.
thank you for sharing with me that once a week for 4weeks helped you, that's some useful information for me. since holiday is tomorrow, i will send this lady a message on tuesday if she could set another meeting on this next saturday. i think you're smarter and wiser

@RasmaSandra now struggling with a refund. they approved it after drama me going in person, closing doors in front of my nose, disrespecting what i had to say, customer service claiming they did all they could. lies, simply lies.

I never had a massage treatment myself. But my friends have had. Based on their experiences, pain/discomfort would have taken time to appear so it would take time to disappear. So regular 2-3 sessions would be important to see the actual progress /benefit of the sessions. Again , the person who does the massage needs toe be competent. They could be showing interest for money but should not be greedy. Again 1 more session and if you feel better , continue else abandon. Half in between would not help in either case. Plus , you could check her reviews and see if someone has approached the salon with similar issues. Take care!
