Don't Try to Earn Love

Have you ever given until it hurts?
Have you ever loved with every fiber of your being?
Have you ever lived your life for another?
- then -
You find out that person was just using you.
You find out that person/s could live just fine without you.
You find out you don't mean as much to them as they do to you.
This is the beginning of a broken heart. The hurt turns to anger. The anger turns to bitterness. The bitterness becomes a jaded mindset. As the attached photo reveals, once one is hurt, they began to believe that love always leads to hurt.
While we should be cautious, and we should expect most to be less loyal than they should, we also have to remember that we give away control when we allow the betrayal of others to take root. How do we handle these situations?
1. Be prepared to be hurt, but love anyway.
2. Be cautious and choosy about who we allow into our inner circle.
3. Set boundaries and let no one cross them. If they truly love you, they will want to respect them.
4. Make Jesus your best friend. He never lets us down. Drench your life with prayer and Bible reading. The more we get to know Him, the easier it will be to survive those betrayals and hurts.
5. Forgive! Even if you don't get an apology, forgive. You don't have to allow the offenders/aggressors a place at your table, but don't allow them a place in your heart either. Holding on to unforgiveness gives them a place in your mind.
Remember, never try to earn anyone's love. If you have to earn it, then it's not real.

That is true since there are some people who I love from a distance and have learned to respect their choices of how they earn a living.

Yes you are right..You should not allow other persons to use you..The last and final stage of love are two either you are being loved or being hurt..Therefore only believe on God..Love God..He will never hurt you..Unconditional love is possible only with God..

I believe "give until it hurts" is a quote from Mother Teresa and somewhere in the bible. I think that it can be deciphered in different ways and that the action of giving or loving until it hurts can be utilized in both detrimental and beneficial ways, depending on the situation.
I know from personal experience how much pain and destruction you can experience if you let it get out of control. I did this with my abusive ex-husband and it ruined my life because he took advantage of it and I kept giving. I learned a lesson from it though and I won't do it again.

Practice self-love dear. It teaches you to set boundaries. You will then learn to love in a tough way without hurting. And you are right, attempts to earn someone's love only leads to frustration.
