Grandbury Volunteer Firefighter Jonathan Head took action to rescue a 2 year old boy named Liam Keen who was inside a home that was on fire on Sunday morning after his mother Phylica Keen managed to escape the burning home with her four year old son out of the apartment when the fire broke out but she was unable to return inside of her apartment to rescue her son Liam due to the thick smoke.
Phylica was able to call for help by notifying her neighbors about the fire in her apartment.
When the firefighters arrived at the burning apartment, Jonathan was able to rescue Liam by using an ax to break a window and carry Liam to safety.
After Liam was rescued by the firefighters, Liam was taken by an ambulance to Cook's Children's Hospital to be treated for carbon monoxide poisoning. Lam is expected to make a full recovery.
The firefighters are being recognized as heroes by the community.

Good for you Jonathan. The poor mother must have been beside herself not being able to get her son out. Thank goodness Jonathan was able to do so.

The mom of Liam was scared that she could get into her home and save her younger son.

That is very true since it takes a lot of courage to enter a burning home to rescue someone.

I am sure that Liam is too young to remember this incident.

A good news story that the young boy was rescued, but there are far too many house fires these days, maybe due to shoddy construction, or carelessness of the owners.

That is true that sometimes fires are caused by careless owners and bad construction in the home.
