I Hope the Weather Holds Out

@porwest My ex has needed a shoulder replacement for as long as I've known him so he doesn't like to rake. (no problem with shoveling snow though--go figure) He just runs the lawnmower each weekend until all of the leaves are mulched. It never harmed the lawn. His lawn is like his pride and joy.

@porwest He is obsessive about the lawn. In the summer he mows it twice a week. To his credit it does always look great. His family has bad joints. His mother is a bionic woman with 2 hip replacements, 2 knee replacements, and who knows what else at this point. Several of his aunts have had joint replacements. He had a hip replaced at the age of 42. The recovery for him was super-easy. He knows someone who did a shoulder replacement and has heard other horror stories about how difficult it is so he keeps putting it off.

@NJChicaa I just don't rake because I see no need for it. But that's got to suck about his shoulder. I have enough problems with my back, and raking would aggravate that too. I tend to take great pride in the yard as well.

I do remember that and liking snow. Now I can't stand either. lol

Tell me about it. I won't go out there and try to mulch wet leaves. Just bogs down my mower.

Well, technically our grass is now dormant. I'm just taking care of the leaves.

@porwest Rained all day, pipe burst in town and there was sewage and sludge everywhere.

Dry as a bone today, and so far looking to stay that way. Sun's out and not a cloud in the sky and loving it.

Christmas decorations are on hold until the last need to mulch. I don't want wires in the way.

You know it. I won't waste my time raking them up when mulching gets them gone lickety split and only takes a few passes with the mower.
