The Morning Joe star Joe Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski broke tradition and courageously went to visit President-elect Trump. They said they wanted to improve communications after their unrelenting criticism of Trump's campaign for the Presidency. Some critics say they abandoned their liberal values and fear retribution from Trump. I agree with their decision, to visit President-elect Trump. My view is that no matter how far apart people are politically, they can still find common ground. They can identify issues that they can agree on and work together to find solutions. That is what democracy is all about. What is your opinion?

We are all human and need to treat each other as such. When Trump was re-elected; I knew there would be a lot of backlash. Especially from those who truely believe Trump to be an evil human who single-handedly destroyed the country during his first term. Plenty of people didn't want to see him re-elected, but here we are. While their reasons may remain unknown, (can't always believe what you hear), it makes them bigger people to do something like this. And, I fully support that.

I agree with your post, but what was courageous about visiting President elect Trump?

They took a lot of heat form their liberal friends. They seem to view it as capitulation. Thanks for your comment.

Trying to find common ground with Trump is like trying to explain calculus to a puppy.

Thank you for your comment, it is very relevant. Your comment reflects what millions of Americans believe. At this point in history, however, we need to go in the opposite direction. The challenge of our generation is to talk to each other and to learn to get along. That is the best way to control the conflicts in society before they get out of hand. We had one civil war in this country, and we cannot have another one. Every generation has a serious challenge in government and so does ours. We have overcome great challenges in the past, and we can rise to the occasion and overcome this challenge.

Maybe Joe and Mila have seen the light that the person they despise in the past have seen the light that they have to be nice to President elect Donald J Trump now.

The article does not say when they went to visit. It does not say they went to visit on Tuesday.

@PeterGagliardi okay but the post originally said that they visited yesterday which isn't true.

@NJChicaa I never said that they visited yesterday. I did not edit the post so I do not know what you mean by the original post.

At the end of the day, I think it is time people come back to their senses. So much of the media reporting on Trump was false and downright embarrassing to say the least. These two show hosts probably came to the realization that they can't have a show without an audience, and the Trump win was a complete rejection of the media, the leftist agenda, and their false opinions. They are trying to keep themselves relevant. At the same time, I think they, as well other liberal media, are potentially realizing they are going to have to start being honest and knock off the Trump bashing. This is their way of getting away with a "change of tune."
The media is already out of favor with most Americans, and if they want to keep their networks up and running, they can't do what they have done for the past 10 years and expect to stay on the air.
The mandate was a clear and decisive one. Republicans won everything, so clearly the left and their ideology was completely rejected. And people are tired of the lies and bashing, frankly, as well.

Thanks so much for your comments. I agree that the media needs to look at the situation objectively and fairly, and leave their ideology behind.

@PeterGagliardi The news media cannot survive if they continue on the same path they have been on for so long now. The media is less and less trusted by the American people. The biggest question is CAN they actually do it? That is, report the news accurately and fairly and remove the strong biases they have.
