So, is any body preparing any special dishes for Thanksgiving?

Our grandmothers made a casserole they called scalloped pineapple that was very similar to what you describe. It is absolutely delicious with baked ham...pineapple tidbits or chunks, eggs, white bread torn up like for dressing, sugar, butter. It's sweet...and it is so, so good hot. My kids fight over it. But it has no cheese. Someone suggested it to us, and the kids have had it that way in other homes, but they like the grandma one the best. I love Chex mix, I have to be strict with myself, as it's so easy to just keep on eating it...and eating it...

That's an interesting mix for a casserole. My hubby and I will be home enjoying salmon chowder.

I absolutely adore that pineapple cheese casserole. My husband hates pineapple, so I seldom make it. Our dinner will be small, just four of us (three if our grandson Nathan has to work.) I'll bake a ham, make a broccoli casserole, fried green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, croissants, sweet tea, and a chocolate pie. And maybe deviled eggs.

Eeps. Does not sound appetizing to me. But I have been surprised in the past.

I've not heard of that dish before. Sounds good. We go to our brother-in-law's but they don't ask us to bring anything.

I might make Dorito chicken, my mom’s specialty that my dad loves so much. My sister likes my pasta salad though. Oh darn. I just remembered my dad and Diana are in the Keto diet. I better double check on what they can eat because neither of those things are likely on the list. My dad is losing weight, so I want to encourage him to stick with it.

I’m thinking about mixing rice, broccoli, and white cheddar cheese together for a “patty” and then grilling it. Other than that, no, just normal stuff. I’ll hopefully pick up my turkey next Wednesday.

i would love your casserole as pineapple is my favorite fruit! my sister is cooking some things at home and then i think she will come cook at my home when we will have our own little Thanksgiving meal. However, on Wednesday before my sister comes I am cooking scrambled eggs in the afternoon and maybe spaghetti since my peer is coming and I am going to cook with her. I don't see her this week as I have a doctor's appointment when she comes and it is essential i go to my doctor this week as my doctor is not working any other day this week Have a happy evening and give Nico a huge hug and meow from Onyx!
