Do you believe people can speak in tongues?

I guess most people are aware of what this is. It is when people in church or some kind of religious gathering start speaking in a language not native to them. I think it is Hebrew or Aramic. They are supposedly overcome by the spirit, and will break out into speaking in tongues. They do this rather often in certain types of churches like Assembly of God or Pentacoastal. I am sure not every congregation of these sects does it though. I have seen it a couple of times..it is uncanny...do I believe it is real? Probably not, but who am I to judge?

I have only heard of that in horror movies. I wouldn´t know anyway because I don´t go to church.

Horror movies...oh like The Exorcist you mean. They do some of those kinds of things sometimes.

I know that I cannot speak in tongues like some church personalities can do. I doubt that it is real.

@snowy22315 I did read in a religious book that speaking in tongues could be someone talking gibberish.

Its written in the bible, it happened so its true.
Speaking in tongues is one of the gift by the Holy Spirit of God.
But yes, not all Christians have that gift, but anyway you can really control it, and it is also written in the bible that when you pray or preach and you start speaking in tongues pray to God to control it, because what good it will do when the people you are talkin too or preaching and praying dont understand you.
