Probably he won´t stay more than a couple of days. But I am buying cake, jam (he has a sweet tooth) and several yummy ingredients to make dinner. I will have to ask him what he wants. He is more than picky. I know that the easiest thing to do if I invite my aunt is a baked trout. I only add salt, a bit of onion in the bottom so that it doesn´t stick andd some lemon juice if I have some around. I can´t use any spices in my aunt´s food. She is over 100 years old and she follows her doctor´s orders to the dot. I know that my aunt prefers mashed potatoes on the side. She has trouble swallowing rice. But my cousin immediatly said "with rice". Okay, I said. I´ll make it a buffet. My aunt will have her mashed potatoes and you will have rice. I´ll make rice for me too. I prefer it. Yesterday, as I was looking inside the fridge for hidden food, I found an eggplant that had seen better days. So immediatly I made an escalivada. I added a sweet pimiento (red) that had several wrinkles from age. Another forgotten miracle! And I remembered that I had bought a green hot chile the last time I ordered food so I looked for it. I found it where Anita places things: in the botton shelf. I added lots of olive oil, salt and to the oven. I am not using spices much lately. Anf today, I heated a bun and put on a dish some of the escalivada with lots of that delicious oil with its eggplant taste. The Royals DO NOT have such good breakfasts. After that I fixed some cacti cuttings for the kitchen sill. I still need to make 5 or 6. I´m happily working on that. I came back to my room as the phone was ringing. It was a phone scam. My daughter had had an accident and was at the hospital. When the "doctor" would not answer my questions, I told him that he should learn more before scamming people. He was treating me in the "thou" language young people use. But doctors NEVER do that. And I hung And here I am. Ready for a second round of planting cacti. See you later.
