Cody Rogers who is the assistant fire chief of the Taylorville Illinois Fire Department was in his home on Saturday when he received an emergency call that two children needed to be rescued after a female teenager and a two year old boy were inside a foot well that was around 30 feet deep.
Cody got into his automobile rushing to the scene of the accident when he was assisted by his fellow firefighters Kobe Wheaton, Lucas Smiley and Andrew Watson arrived a few seconds later to form a rescue team to rescue the female teen and her two year old brother by using a pre-made rigging system attaching one end to the squad car and the other end to Cody who was able to rescue the two year old child first and then rescue the sixteen year old girl next.
Both children were taken by an ambulance to a local hospital where they were treated and released the same day and they will make a full recovery.

Amber, Taylorville is not that far from me. This was on our local news. I immediately thought of Baby Jessica, too. Watching that on television was so stressful and it was such a relief when she was finally rescued.

How in the world did they get down that well, I mean the 16 year old should have been more careful,

I can only guess that the toddler fell first. Wells can be very dangerous.
