Stocking Up

Today was grocery shopping day in my world.
I was up early and out the door to get ahead of the crowd.
I stocked the pantry shelves really well. That just leaves some odds and ends that I will pick up closer to Christmas for Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
We ordered the girls the Duplo Lego building blocks that they love to play with at playgroup. We do not usually give them toys, but these are basics and I have a feeling that they will be well used for a long time to come.
Otherwise it will be a relatively quiet day here. I did a load of laundry early this morning, my hubs finished it in the dryer and folded everything and put it all away while I was grocery shopping, so that is done.
I have a feeling that I will start to put some of the Christmas decorations up today.
At least the wreath and possible my little tree forest.

Oh, was that last year's village? Its pretty. My son was crazy about legos when he was a kid. I think they are educational, besides kids love toys. Maybe they will be engineers some day who knows?

@Juliaacv A born nurturer I guess! Wrecking ball..how funny! Ya never know though. I bet the operators get paid alot . I suspect they will pick something a bit more taditional though. I saw a funny Lego store the other day. It was called bricks and mini figs.

Yes, that is from last year.
I have a new piece to add to it this year, although I really just like the various clusters of trees, and I have picked up a new one for this year.
They are both very cleaver little girls, but what they play the most with is the magnetic coloured tiles and they build towers and then knock them over. Maybe running a wrecking ball is in their future.
They also play Mama and Baby and I have a feeling that Willow will be having a big family when her turn comes. She is quick to ohh and ahh over any little one when we are in a crowd with babies, and she is so gentle with her own baby doll it amazes me.

@snowy22315 They both like to knock down their towers, but Harper loves to knock down a tower made by Willow even more. She can be so comical.

You're so sweet.
I will keep you updated.
We are in the second week of the strike currently.
I feel sorry for the families that will have to cope with strike pay, at any time of the year, but especially at this time of year. It is so little and everything is so expensive, and its usually the children that go without.

Thank you, I got the little trees up on the snack cart sideboard, and the snowman and Santa collection set up on the buffet.
The wreath is on the front door and the antique looking car with the Christmas tree strapped to the roof is on the coffee table.
I have a plaid runner that I always use at this time of the year that I just cannot find. I will find it later this week when I dig out more decorations.

I like going shopping during the week to avoid the crowds. I won't start decorating until next weekend

One son played with his Lego every day for a good number of years. I'm sure the girls will love theirs.
