One thing leads to another. Talking about rape and its consequences.

I was commenting with friends about a post I wrote with news that a doctor had amtutated the wrong leg of a patient. Doctors wrongdoings and health wrongdoings led to abortions laws in my country and in the US. And abortion laws laws led to a conversation about child rape. I then remembered a movie I saw years ago calle "Precious". I checked it and you can check it online. It is a story about an obese child sexually abused by her father who had children by him. This, I know, is more usual than what many people know (or want to know). Rapes are less usually done by people who are walking through the neighborhood than by members of their own family including fathers. And when if lead to pregnancies it is even worse. The girl´s bodies are not yet prepared to be pregnant (and their mind aren´t either) but the children could have more genetic ailments being the result of inbreeding. And that, of course, is the recional part of it all. We could talk about the peril of the child-mother´s life and the psychological damage. In my country, now, a rapist goes to jail for a few years. He can even be let out sooner "for good conduct". And then what? Lately, a man who had raped and killed a girl was put in jail but after some time he was let out. And guess what? He did it again!!! The law is stronger after this. But the second victim could have been spared.

The key issue here, is proving it. Rape and pregancy as a result are common, but the number of cases that are reported aren't accurate to how many that actually happen. Adversly, if a case is reported, proving it becomes themain issue. The main reason for this, adult women who are angery at a partner, or a minor at the age of concent, will often report something as a rape just because they're angry with their partner and might've been fighting. Which makes filtering out the lyers that much harder. Addationally, you have women who don't know what they experienced was rape or knew they had the right to say 'no'. So, report it to late for edivience to be vibile.

that's the problem. Laws are there but laws are always tweaked because they are words and interpretation of those words matter in law!

Laws are meant to be broken.

"Minor" is a tricky word. Technically, I began to date my darling husband when I was a minor. I was 16. And he was 22. And I can assure you that I was of a consenting age although my father had to sign when I got married at 18 years of age. But when a 10 year old is raped and gets pregnant by her own father or uncle there´s no was to talk about consenting. After a while maybe there are no signs of "rape". But DNA shows who is the baby´s father. And the DNA can be taken when the fetus is in the first weeks.

I usually feel morbid when I hear about rape especially when the family members are involved. Its something which makes humans worse than other animals!

It has been proven that family men rape their woman children more than strange people.

@Dreamerby I find it quite disturbing that a man can also be raped.

The officials making the laws just simple don't understand or they don't care,

Our laws seem to be very remiss sometimes. Offenders often offend again once they're out of jail.

and the saddest part is that girls often don't talk about abuse to anyone. i also read that sometimes mothers know about it, but they don't want to ruin the family picture by admitting it.... and it doesn't have to lead to pregnancy, rape itself leaves physical and psychological consequences. i think that the law should be more strict when it comes to these cases.

But as the law is made by all of us, we should tey to change it.
