Although the official numbers around inflation is always available, I believe the number is actually higher. I could see the cost of fruits and vegetables compared to last year has increased by atleast 10% where I live. My income has not increased even by 5% this year. Net effect, is slowly but certainly things are getting expensive.
One way to combat the inflation is to be part of shared economy. I have been part of shared economy by carpooling for some time. It did help to bring down the cost of travelling as well as on the car maintenance. But with the increase in expenses, I am seriously thinking of even letting out a room in my condo for rent. Co-living arrangements comes with challenges, but with the right people housing costs and expenses can be lowered. Carpooling ca also help in bringing down the travel expenses especially when public transport could be challenging at times.
Do you think there could be better ways of combating inflation? Or do have any experience in share economy? Any thoughts?

While renting a room is a good way to earn a little income, you need to be careful and know who you're renting to. It won't really conbat inflation, it'll just get you a little extra cash you can put to those bills you're responsible for.
Each year I look at my expenceses. I evulate what I need to pay for, and what I don't. If I haven't used a subscription in a while, I'll cut it. Addationally, if there's a subscription I use regurally and they have an anual option, then I can save a little money back each month to pay for it and then I don't have to worry about it for another year. Idealy, you need to budget the money you do have, and know where you can cut costs. Car pooling can be helpful, but at what cost? Someone's going to be responsible for the wear and tear, the gas etc. So, while effective, you need to do it sparingly and do it where you're not putting unnecessary wear and tear on another person's vichle.

I guess I need to really look at the benefits not just figures but then the risks ivolved before making those decisions. Thanks for the advice!

I plant and use my own herbs. When you buy them at the supermarket they are expensive and half of the bunch is wasted. I also shar half of some veggies that are too big with Anita like cabbage. She brings me some of the fruit she buys a a smaller price at her farmerĀ“s market.
