I was awoken by Tom around 6:30am. He asked me to take him to the hospital ER. I put my shoes on and a coat and took him there, and dropped him off. Did not want to stay since I am trying to get well myself. Have been after him for several days to go get some help. Went back home and slept a couple of hours...called him and he told me he had Pneumonia and they were going to keep him.
Never knew how quiet this house could be without him here even when he wasn't talking or coughing, it never felt so quiet. I am worried as he has had this for days, and would not go to the doctor. When he went to the VA clinic last week..they told him he Should have gone to the ER, but then they only gave him a steroid shot, and a breathing treatment no anti-biotics or even a script for breathing treatments. Just sent him a new Inhaler in the mail. 3 years ago he had a good doctor out there that took care of him really good. And a good nurse that took care of things that needed to be taken care of This new doctor is a quack. I could go on about things that they have screwed up, but don't want to write a book. Didn't have trouble with the VA clinic before.
Anyway...would be grateful if I can get prayers for Tom. Thank you!

I hope he is getting effective treatment where he is. Stubborn not going when he first was sick.

I can understand your frustration. Ever since George's been home from the hospital, it's been one thing after another with the VA. Getting him seen, having his doctor (who'd he'd seen seen for years) suddenly retire. juggling appoitments with the various therapies his doctor now wants him to take. Medical personal not wanting to talk to me, until they realize he's having problems with his speach. It's been real stressful.
And, your husband is acting like a typical male. Not wanting to see a doctor, either. I don't blame him. On the plus side, You caught it enough that he should be home in a few days. It's very treatable.
Hey, and you can drive. So yay.
