Sweet Sunday

We were both up before the sun this morning. We enjoyed a coffee together, my husband and I. I feel very relaxed. I had a good sleep. The Christmas decorations always make me feel so happy. The realization that Christmas Eve is just a month away makes me happy as well. I still have to find something for our son and his wife for Christmas. They are hard to buy for. I picked up a big 2 KG bag of frozen corn for the family Christmas party next month, I was asked to bring corn this year. I am not certain if I need to buy prizes for the Price is Right Game which we usually play or chocolate bars for the bingo that they usually like to play. Bingo honestly does nothing for me, I would really appreciate it if they stopped that practice. I feel caught up to the season, although I have 2 packages yet to be delivered. When they arrive I will feel completely ready as at that point I will be ready to start wrapping gifts to put under the tree. It started as a sweet Sunday and I hope that it remains that way. How is your Sunday? ~Photo is mine

It has been a very busy Sunday, we are working on getting rid of a lot of things. Yesterday and today it was old documents, I am exhausted. I noticed the first Christmas decorations today in the streets, I love Christmas time.

That is a big job and not a really happy job, but a necessary one. I love this time of the year. I cannot locate a couple of my really pretty Christmas runners, I may have to replace them if I do not find them.

@LadyDuck I found just 1 table runner. It is quite long, but I did buy it as I liked it. There was no price on it, and had I seen the price I would have left it, but when I waited in line for the cashier and she told me the price I didn't have the heart to say never-mind. It is ivory with scalloped edges that are embroidered in green, and each end has 3 beautiful red cardinals on it on pretty brown branches. I could use it all during the winter months actually. I remember when we down-sized, Ron was up here working and came home on the weekends, as I finished working my job there, and packed things up which required alot of shredding of out-dated papers. I also cleaned out each room and would have the furniture ready for him to move into the storage pod that we had delivered to the driveway. Just being a woman, I couldn't lift much, but I found ways of moving heavy wooden furniture without scraping the wood floor or breaking my back. I remember I put a mat upside down, and walked a tall wood chest of drawers to the mat and then dragged that mat across the wood floor to where I needed it to be closer to the door. Those were really long and hard days.

@Juliaacv - As I am noticing how my husband health is worsening, I want to be ready to move to a smaller place, only one floor if needed. It's a lot of work to scale down, but necessary, until he can help me. I hope you can find your Christmas runners.

I’m getting excited for Christmas just reading your post! I just have two Christmas gifts to get, and I’m waiting on a Black Friday sale to buy them. I’m really hoping they’ll be on sale.

I have this really old (Christmas 1996) huge broach that my son gave to me for Christmas that year. He was only 7 years old and was a firm believer that bigger was better. And he found the biggest broach, which is a candle in a holly ring, that he could find and convinced Dad to buy it so that he could give it to me for Christmas. And of course it is one of those things that only a mother could love. I put that on my winter coat yesterday, and I actually found people almost staring at it. It is THAT ugly. I took it off this morning and put a very simple gold coloured tree with a little 'diamond' at the top. It is simple and small and there is something to be said for that. It is more of a sweet memory than a sweet piece of jewelry. I will keep it out on my little side table where my jewelry box is so that it still brings me joy.

Not too bad..other than the annoying cough. I am going to go out for a walk in a bit before the games start

Glad you have an enjoyable Sunday. I haven't done much today. Will think of Christmas gifts when December arrives.
