Update on Tom

Went to see Tom..been putting it off because of me being sick, but he hasn't answered his phone and I was getting worried. I called the nurses station this morning and he was having a breathing treatment so I thought he must be getting better. When I got there they had moved him. Finally found his room, and he was sleeping. Tried to wake him, but he was out. While I was there the guy came in for a breathing treatment. He did not wake him. Plugged in the tube and face mask and put it on him then left. But he came back and talked to Tom's neighbor until Tom was done with his treatment. His bed was nasty. Had blood stains, and not sure maybe urine and he was half in and half out of the bed. I called the nurse, and she came in..FINALLY. She told me that they had given him medication to calm him down as he was shaky from not drinking his Jack Daniels. She said he would not put on a gown, so they left his shirt on. Anyway, I could see that they were taking care of him, and before I left the nurse called for a tech to come and change his bed. I left since I knew I would be in the way. He has a nice roommate. He is an ICU nurse, but he had shoulder surgery, and a few days later heart problems. He said he was glad to get Tom as a roommate because he turned on Fox News. LOL It was pretty hard on me walking and all, but I took my walker and that helped. The next time I go to the doctor I will ask for a handicap parking permit, as I had to park a ways from the door and had to stop and rest just getting to the entrance. Looks like it might be a while before he comes home. Popeye's Chicken is what's for supper.
