Should people with a disability vote?

This is the question my mom asked today. I have a disability because she forced me to have one. I tried to find a job and I even worked from home when I was able to find a part-time job. But my mom considers I am disabled and she even said this. I felt awful. Anxiety limits me a lot, but why I shouldn't vote? After she said what she said she mentioned that it was a joke. This is the second bad joke she makes about my disability. I live in Romania and she doesn't want to help me to vote. I wanted to make progress, I wanted to travel. With a mom like this who needs enemies? Even if anxiety limits me a lot I still think I can vote. And I don't see myself as so disabled. I can cook for myself, I can order food, I can learn new things, I can make some decisions. But I don't have an income and I feel so worthless. I don't have support from my family at all. My mom makes jokes about her mental health problems too. She had depression. I can't understand why she makes such terrible jokes.

I hope you still find the goodness on your mom's playfulness. But anyway, I hope you gets better, and I hope you can find creative ways to intentionally lights up the day, and be motivated, there are so many things you can start online, like writings or selling online products. No one can limit you in the digital world. God bless you... Life is not easy for everyone, but everyone can overcome. To Christ be the glory. And yes, everyone can vote.

i guess that's the part of our culture in Balkans - people still don't give enough attention to mental health and they don't make much difference between disabilities and mental health issues. i'm sorry that you have such experience. hopefully you can find a job and start living on your own i don't consider mental health issues a disability and i think people should vote and do everything on their own as long as they are able to understand what is going on and what it means

I think you have the right to vote. I am sorry that your own mom jokes about your disability. It is not easy, she should know but it should not limit you or her to do things and decide for youself

I sympathize with you about having a mom who jokes about your disability. It's unfortunate, as parents should be the ones who uplift their children, especially during difficult times. Hugsss

Sorry to this - but you can definitely vote! Well , you definitely have challenges in finding job . What are your strengths-surely there should be some stregths that everyone is proud of. Please focus on a job inline with that strength. If you are good are writing , trying blogging or writing. It could be hard initially but then if things go well, you could be earning handsomely. Look for something in which you can grow and progress. It is pointless to look at jobs as virtual assitant or similar as those have earning potential only for a limited time. And you are very strong woman! You can beat all anxiety and challenge thrown in front of you. Good luck!

You can vote. If you can write this well, you can vote no matter what your mother says. I am very sorry that you cannot be independent. Your mother is manipulating and psychologically destroying you. But surely you can vote. And you can learn (secretly if needed) to do other things.

I see no reason why you could not vote, I am always fighting my anxiety and I am glad when I can control it but I voted by mail.
