Happy Thanksgiving to all ! It is time of the year to be grateful and celebrate and enjoy the time with near and dear ones. A few years ago, I celebrated my Thanksgiving Day in US. 6 months prior to that , I lost my biological parents and only brother in an accident and my mind was not in the right place. Although I have extended family, our interactions were and are limited since we live in different places. Plus, we were never close at any point of time. So, the very thought of having become an orphan was daunting me sometime. At this time, I got this opportunity to travel to US and some of my friends and colleagues suggested a location change would refresh me. Hence, travelled to US for the limited time assignment. One of my colleagues urged me to come with him on Thanksgiving Day to be his friends. Well, it was a family gathering. That was when I understood the tradition. The family was absolutely considerate to me and took great care of me. All my dietary restrictions were well taken care and they made sure I was all good as I was only Indian in the whole set of people. I enjoyed the dinner and thanked all of them. I came thanking God, learning there are kind and considerate people to take care of souls like me. And from that day onwards, I have ever been grateful for whatever small things I have achieved. Well, for the friends and family in US, we are occasionally in touch even after coming back from US. On this day , I would say be grateful for whatever we got and will be provided. Happy Thanksgiving!
