@sallypup i guess people consider it as such because there are many "newer" things/hobbies like video games, watching movies based on books or watching videos about the thing you're reading about. i understand all that, but i just love having a book in my hands.

I did read the scarlet letter when I was in high school. Never heard of the other books but the back of the book in your photo reminds me of maleficient.

@aureategloom I’ve been out of school for over 20 years so it’s hard to remember but I do think I recall liking that book. I think the only thing we read I didn’t like was Shakespeare.

first two are read in high schools in some countries, but we never had to read them. we were reading some other authors. and now i feel like i want to make it up for that and read other "classics"

i've also heard about this book and that high schoolers read it, but i never got to it. i suppose it's worth reading

we never read and that's probably because we were reading some of bosnian/croatian/serbian authors in 3rd and 4th grade of high school
