11/29/24 - Update On My Husband

I called the facility numerous times yesterday. Ideally I wanted a nurse or an aide to assist my husband in dialing the phone. I don't know what happened; but he did call me TWICE yesterday. He doesn't know why he hasn't called me for 2 weeks. He doesn't recall. He also had a situation in which he was hallucinating but says he's not. He's doing OK and doesn't want me to travel in this s**wy weather. The weather is bad here and is probably even worse where he is.
Even though I had to spend Thanksgiving alone, it was OK since I heard from my hubby. I hope you had a wonderful day with your families.

I am glad your husband called you, but sorry because he seems not to remember why he did not call and he seems confused. I agree with @BarBaraPrz not being optimistic about the future.

@LindaOHio - I know that sometimes they seem to reason perfectly, but not always and it gets worse with time.

He's not okay, but doesn't want to worry you. All of this has taken it's toll on his memtal health as well as physical.

I'm so sorry that he is forgetting he hasn't called you
but after you talked to a staff He called you twice.
I wish you all the best in everything you are going
through & things get better for you both next year.

I’ve seen that there are lake effect sn*w warnings all over the area up there. And here I am, wondering if I should escape to Bowling Green or Nashville because they’re predicting an inch.

I would not dwell, nor allow him to dwell on why he didn't.........
That could be a major part of the dementia.
You had a good day yesterday, as did he, and that is what is important.
I hope that the sun is shining as brightly over your place as it is mine today, it feels wonderful.

@LindaOHio I'm still hoping to get the neck injection next Wednesday. My back has been bad again lately, but it'll just have to wait its turn, lol.

i'm sorry to read he wasn't feeling too good past two weeks and that you had to spend the Thanksgiving alone, but at least you got to hear from your husband yesterday.

I'm sorry your husband could not recall has not called you for two weeks. At least, you managed to talk to him on Thanksgiving Day. When will you visit him?
