I said I was going to stay home today, but we were about out of ice, and Tom needed his cigarettes. So I went to Grocery Outlet and my lotto store. Believe it or not Groceries aren't crowded on Black Friday. Got enough bags of ice to keep us going for almost a week. Gotta have my Ready Ice (brand). Had a Turkey and Bacon sandwich tonight. Afterwards kind of wished I put some cheese on it. We have plenty left, so that could happen.

I am a bit curious as well. The only time I buy ice is when we are somewhere where I am going to fill a cooler.

@porwest I like Ice in my lemonade and we do not have an ice maker in our refrigerator. I do not like Cubes because they are hard to eat, and sometimes I like to crunch on some ice. I like Ready Ice because it is cloudy and doesn't melt as fast as the clear ice. I am a connoisseur of ice. Have had bags of ice from different places here, and Ready Ice is the only brand that has the frosty ice and in really small pieces but not overly crushed. But I can't buy it at Walmart or Gas stations as they have not only changed the bags, the ice is in bigger chunks. I can only find the old way of processing their ice at Grocery Outlet. They use the old style bag there it is clamped not heat sealed. The heat sealed bags come loose so easy and I find bags opened in the ice coolers at the stores. Grocery Outlet Ready Ice is perfect. I love my Ice!

Good to know that you will have enough ice to last almost a week.

I would imagine that grocery stores really don't do much in the way of Black Friday discounts, so it seems reasonable they would be less packed. As for ice, we have an icemaker in our freezer, so we just use that.
