Ever See an Orca with a Salmon on Its Head?

I learned something new today, In the waters of Puget Sound, Washington a kind of weird fashion statement has returned after four decades. It involves Orcas black and white killer whales who balance dead salmon on their heads as they swim. This oddity first occurred in 1987 and whale watchers were amazed. Like a crazy fashion parade but then the orcas stopped doing this. Now they have started it again, They say orcas are wearing “salmon hats”.

@rakski if you were a big fish like an orca and powerful enough to kill a salmon I guess you would be proud to show that off too and a warning to everyone

@allknowing I guess it is part of the food change and the orcas are proud to show they got salmon

How odd they stopped and started again. Definitely reminds me of fashion fads.
