I need door frames for my new house. I felt terribly incapable of buying them or getting them prepared by a carpenter as wood is quite costly in this part of the country. Moreover, "saal" is considered to be the best option for this part of house building. It's the toughest and costliest.
A teacher colleague of the my wife told that reusable door frames made from the auctioned materials of the Indian Railways could be as good as new. Last Saturday, I went to that part of the city where such wooden materials are sold. I went round. a few shops. A good friend helped me find them. A shopkeeper agreed to prepare the door frames for me. It took two days but yesterday I got them. They are made from saal the hardest wood found here. They even look new.
I'm glad that I was able to save money and got the best possible bargain.
I'm going to visit that shop again for doors. In my opinion, those second hand doors will be as good as new, better than I could get at my budget.
