107 days until Spring!
We are still under a State of Emergency since the s**w is still scheduled to fall. Meals on Wheels is supposed to come today; and my husband's 3rd cousin is supposed to pick up groceries for me, etc. I need to get the drive plowed again early this morning.
The plow demolished our mailbox. Fortunately the lady across the street was able to retrieve the mail. I had several important things in the mail. I have to call the County Engineers Office to see if they will pay for a new mailbox. I still have the new one that I bought. It won't be able to be installed until all this s**w melts. That could be weeks. In the meantime I must get my mail at the post office which opens up a whole new problem.
I had another 1/2 hour+ call with Kinetic/Windstream. Now they are saying our phone number should be switched over on Friday. I have to call Spectrum and Kinetic to have ALL phone charges dropped for the last 2 months since we didn't have our landline active.
There is a mystery illness in the Congo which has flu-like symptoms. Between 67 and 143 people have died. A team of experts is expected in the region to identify the problem. The population is advised to refrain from contact with the dead bodies.
Breakfast - Protein bar
Lunch - Stouffer's Meatloaf and potatoes
Dessert/Snack - Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Cookie
Dinner - Stouffer's Macaroni and Beef

Good grief Linda you can't catch a break. Hope you get your meal on wheels and the groceries picked up. Fingers crossed that once and for all you get that phone thing settled with Spectrum and Kinetic.

Kinetic said the number would be transferred over on Friday. Now they are saying the 10th.

They have broken the contract in giving absolutely NO service. Blow up their phones, it’s been forever, they have had plenty of time to fix this mess. Tell them you are going to report them to anyone and everyone you can think of. Tell them to come and get their equipment and while i would be tempted to tell them to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine, they need consequences since they have provided no service whatsoever. What a terrible company!!

Something always seems to be going on in Africa. Lets hope it doesn't spread. I had the onion soup I discussed, Spaghetti with homemade meatballs. They tasted under spiced unfortunately, but oh well.and cereal for breakfast Oh no, sorry about your box

I trust Windstream as far as I can throw them. That’s awful about your mailbox, and YES, they need to replace it, and immediately (postal regulations state you have to have a mailbox to get mail).
Chicken taco & rice for lunch, turkey & dressing for dinner. Apples, yogurt, fiber.
Oh, and I’m 0.8 pounds away from the sixty pound weight loss mark!!!!

Congrats on the weight loss. The County Engineers Road Department said that they no longer replace mail boxes. I have one; but it will be a long time until it can get put up.

@LindaOHio — I’d be calling the mayor. Or the post office, because, LEGALLY, they destroyed federal property. (Aren’t you glad you know an ex-postal employee?

Oh, the snowplow destroying the mailbox is a big problem if you live rurally and the mailbox is by the road. I've lived several places where mine was destroyed by plows, and my daughter had to replace 2 of them in 3 years due to snowplows. I think they just don't look. Your snow was really deep and that may have been the problem, but usually they can actually see the mailbox. At least I think they can, if the homeowner can see it from their home!
If you want to, since you are handicapped you can get permission to put your mailbox close to your house, like in your driveway, etc. You have to get a form from the post office and it's kind of a pain, but it does help a person that has this problem.

They have the forms at the post office. I helped Dale get one, so that he didn't have to go to our mail station(part of our complex) and his mail comes to a mailbox by his front door. So far, I prefer my mail being delivered to the mail station. It's private, secure, has cameras, and is well lit. All the mail boxes are locked, so if I am not home (which of course is more often than I wish to be gone) my mail is safely locked up. But if I were home more, I would opt out for the box. I know you would qualify for getting one.

I'm glad snow ploughs don't get anywhere near my mailbox (it's attached to the house) but Canada Post is on strike anyway, so no mail to lose. I'm not sure what the strike is about.
