I had high hopes this morning that I would stop coughing because I woke up without a stuffy nose today for the first time in 10 or 12 days. I was thinking no more post nasal drip, no cough. However, I am still coughing intermittently, not a fan. It hasn't been a bad cough like it once was, but its still there. Anybody have any cough remedies, I have tried gargling, honey guafficein etc.

Better you visit your doctor. Is there a good homoeopathic doctor around ?? Homeopathic medicines work wonders.

I have tried homeopathic things. I will give it a week or two before I visit the doctor. I feel fine other than the cough

This has probably been suggested at some point...my grandmothers were older when I came along, and they were old school. Their remedy for a bad cough, if you were old enough, was a hot toddy--made with bourbon or brandy. Hot water, liquor, honey. It honestly works so well! I'm no drinker. But there is a bottle of brandy in my pantry, in case it's needed for the hot toddy to help the coughing. To my credit, the brandy lasts for a long time--I think I had the last smallish bottle for 3 years!

You already tried everything I would have suggested for the cough. I hope you do not need to go to see a doctor.

I've been dealing with that lingering cough too for weeks now. Seems worse in the morning when I get up and then isn't too bad during the day. I don't feel sick at all but the cough is annoying. I don't have any remedies but hope your cough clears up soon.

@snowy22315 A slightly warm water will do wonders May be you can have a flask for that. It is mostly dehydration that causes us to cough

Vince has a cough at the moment too. It wears him out and gives him a headache. I think it is really just an aftermath of the surgery. I hope yours clears up soon.

I hope so. I hope Vince's does too. At least mine doesn't give me a head ache, but it's aggravating in other ways

I use honey/lemon cough drops. When I get a cough though it's really bad. I gag because I cough so hard. I hope you feel better soon. Have a good day.

i know how annoying coughing can be, i hope it goes away soon. i used eucalyptus and honey pills that melt in your mouth. but if you're asking for other home/natural remedies - my mom used to make this awful tea, but it was helping me. it's made of unpeeled apple, onion and a few walnuts (not opened). you let it all boil for 10-15 minutes and later you drink it. it stinks like crazy, i hated it. but it helped me every time. you can add lemon, but don't add sugar. i doubt you'll be making this tea, but i felt like sharing anyways. who knows?
