With a few minor glitches

I saw my primary care physician today. She said what we covered would take the place of the January appointment I had scheduled. I do have a sinus infection. She has sent out a prescription and we picked it up. I will change diabetes medicine and I will try a different statin. We are just packing more and more into the end of the year. I need to go to bed. I am tired, we swam today. I will poke around a little bit and see what you are up to.

It’s so cold here, the idea of swimming anywhere gives me the shivers. I hope the medicine works and you feel better soon.

@GardenGerty I am glad you didn't have to wait on it. That happens to us at times, for my son. The last month or so, it has improved, I am glad of that. I am so tired of driving to various pharmacies to get what one has and the other one doesn't. Frustrating.

@GardenGerty Oh, dear, what a snarl. A high A1C is not good, I hope this all works out, and that the new diabetes med comes in very soon. So often we seem to be waiting on a medication.

Me too. I think the statin caused my A1c to go up. My doctor looked at me and said "here are the facts, and you are not a dumb patient, What do you want to do?" I am just hoping that the price my insurance quoted for the new diabetic med is correct.

I'd rather not do those at all, but if you don't have to go a month later needlessly, even better.

I like and respect my doctor so I do not mind seeing her. I am an easy lab draw so that is no problem either. I know not everyone has it so easy.

I think adding that original statin has caused me some real problems. I look for my health to turn around soon. I am not horribly sick, but just am not at my best.

Should you be swimming with a sinus infection? I wouldn't be doing it. Hope you feel better. My cough is definitely improving. I did cough a fair amount last evening, but hardly any today. I am not sure I need the new cough medicine I just bought. figures..

In my much younger days, as long as I swam I did not get sinus infections. Doctor did not say not to swim and I will have finished my antibiotics by the time we swim again. I think I read somewhere that the swimming cleaned out your sinuses, but I could be imagining it. I have only had three doses, but the pain in my face and cheek is gone.

Aw...hope the prescription gives favorable outcomes....are you changing diabetes medicine and statin without prescription? Blink.

No, even the changes are with a prescription and much talking with the doctor. She said "Here is what we know. Here is what we want the medicines to do. You do have side effects from the statin you are on. You are not a dumb patient, you are very well read. What do you want to do?" She was surprised to hear that the statin the cardiologist had me on is not recommended for diabetics. The antibiotic is already making me feel better. It is the same one that my otolaryngologist prefers for these infections.

The antibiotic is making me feel much better. Or it could be because I feel heard by my doctor. Today was good.

Well, the antibiotic is helping for sure. I will start the new diabetic med in the morning. My doctor wants me to take that for a few weeks before starting the new statin, so we can see if I have side effects and what they are.
