Happy Thursday Everyone! we have a mixed bag of weather tricks here this morning. Sun, then clouds snow squalls, blustery wind. It goes without saying that it's cold too.
At least our snow squalls won't amount to anything and the only worry today is the wind. Wouldn't be surprised to see some Christas decorations blowing down the street.
I had made a promise to myself that I would get my Christmas cards written and mailed in a timely manner this year. Well, I have no idea where I put my cards and gave up looking and ordered new ones. Now that I ordered new ones I'm sure I'll find the others right away.
I'm feeling overly stressed with the holidays coming so fast.
Aside from the gift giving and what to buy for everyone, I have to figure out a menu for Christmas dinner. I'm seriously thinking of having it catered.
The weather is really bothering my knees so I'm hobbling around trying to get things done.
Have no idea what we're having for dinner so I guess I need to take something out of the freezer to defrost. Probably chicken which is always pretty easy to make.
I just poured myself a cup of coffee so I can chat for awhile.

Oh, Marilyn. I’m sorry. Catering is probably a good idea so you can take some stress off of your shoulders. I’m rather upset about the 6 Christmas cards I mailed Monday. Because they were thick, the post office considers them packages. Which means I can track them. They never left the facility Monday, and now the post office can’t find them. I’m so aggravated. I called them today, and they said they’d “look around”.

That is very aggravating and the post office seems to just blow things off and not really care much anymore about service. Hope they find them. Maybe it's just a case of someone forgetting to scan them
My daughter is swamped at work and with Christmas being in the middle of the week she has no time available to take off. We decided that catering is probably the best idea and the rest of the family won't care. I'll still make some of my traditional cookies though.

@Marilynda1225 Oh good, I’m glad you settled on catering. That’s the wise choice. Of course, you can’t beat homemade cookies. They taste so much better than store bought.

I don't have a lot of cards to send but I still like to send a few to elderly aunts and uncles plus a few friends I never get to see.

Decide on a main dish and have everyone else bring sides. That takes a lot of stress off that.
Your weather sounds like ours here.

It's hard not to stress even though I keep telling myself to relax. Just my personality I guess.

I'm sorry your knees are bothering you. If Christmas is so stressful, catering might be the best bet for you as you said. I'd usually have my Christmas cards all done by now. Hopefully my husband's 2nd cousin will get the card table and cards out for me today. Have a good weekend.

I think we have had nearly every form of weather in the last 48 hours that we could have. Cold, bone chilling rain was the one I objected to the most. Wild, wild winds, stuff blowing everywhere, etc. Snow squalls, snow flurries--but honestly very little of the snow settled too much, as it was so terribly windy it blew off to the east. It made it very hard to see to drive yesterday. Then last night we had a terrible hour of hard ice--when it hit the house windows, it sounded like the glass was breaking. It made me very thankful that I have a garage for my car.
Stay warm and try not to stress over Christmas. I'm drinking coffee with you!

I just managed to send Christmas cards to a few friends living overseas. Hope they receive the card on time.
