The smallest thing I got through Freegle

I’ve often mentioned Freegle, one of the best endeavours in my opinion, where people can offer up any thing they no longer want that someone else could find useful, or ask for something that someone else may have going spare.
I can’t tell you the hundreds of things I have given away through this – not just expected things like chairs, rugs, vases, books or even excess garden produce, but things you would think no-one could possibly want like rusty decrepit old tools or vintage underwear.
Similarly I have been gifted all sorts of useful things like paint, bookshelves, a sofa, plant pots, dining chairs, a lovely bed, clothes, pots and pans, books, bedding, children’s toys of all kinds, tools… dozens of things that someone else was ready to pass on.
The smallest item I have been given so far was a tiny glass ‘gem’ less than 1 mm in diameter.
I have this brooch of a frog on a lily pad which I am very fond of, but it lost one of its green eyes and a frog with just one eye doesn’t look right at all. I couldn’t find anywhere to get a replacement, unless I wanted to order 1,000 of them, which although a great price would leave me with at least 995 unwanted ones, even including a few spares – but then I thought of asking on Freegle and to my joy, a lovely lady came to my rescue.
Even more gratifyingly she turned out to be the same person I had donated a stool to a little while before

Sounds like Freegle is really helpful ! I think it goes some way towards reducing environmental pollution in a way.

How cool is that? We have similar sites here. Elderly neighbours (as in old than us) are trying to downsize but are really up to the hassle of having strangers come to the house, etc. But we were able to take delivery of a TV they didn't want and delived to a couple who are living in a tent in the backyard of relatives.
It's extra cool that you gifted something to the lady beforehand.

We have sites like that here in the States as well. I'd like to give someone my treadmill. Have a good weekend.
