He gave me a free Xmas tree

Money is tight and I didn't have a Xmas tree. I saw a cute tree on Pinterest made from small branches and really wanted to make it. So yesterday I went into the woods next to my apartments and gathered a bunch of sticks and the maintenance guy asked me what I was gonna do with them lol. I explained about not having a tree and he went to the storage unit and gave me a huge 7ft tree w/ lights and decorations. I'm so grateful, now I have a tree for my kids.

It really was so sweet. There were some trees at Goodwill I saw a few days ago and they still wanted $30 for them so this worked out great.

@kaylachan Sometimes I get angry at thrift stores because they get their items for free, for nothing. And they will price alot of it at retail price. People go thrifting for deals and it's good to reuse items for economical benefits instead of trashing everything. I think it's just greedy when a thrift store still asks $8 for used shirts and $20 for appliances... these things were otherwise going to be landfill, much of it is already a bit junky. And I often see Dollar Tree items for priced higher than $1.25 lol... they act like they have gold or that we're in a brand new store. Now I'm just ranting, but it really does piss me off cause poor ppl need things too.

Apparently he had asked the office lady to put it in the newsletter that there was a free Xmas tree and no one had shown interest so I guess him seeing me carry a bunch of branches across the parking lot was destiny lol. He is a very nice man, he's been in my apartment before to fix some things and he's great (apart from him being scared of cats)
