Lost and found.

No, friends. I did not find the nails. But several years ago I reread a very good children´s book that is written by one of my best friends. I read it again during the quarantine and then the book got lost. Several times I tried to find it because it is one of those books that make you happy. It is the real story of, Huaso, a Chilean horse that won the record of the high jump in 1949. The record has never been broken. Today there were awful noises upstairs. So, even though I hate to climb stairs, I went up to see if Anita had left a window open. There was not any open window but I discovered that the wind was really blowing. So I checked And as I was upstairs, I also looked. And there, in a low corner, was the book about Huaso. I know that I did not place it there as it was to low. But I bent and brought it downstairs. I´m halfway through the book as children´s books usually are smaller than the big adult novels. And it made my day. After a while, I googled about Huaso, and there it was. of course Luis Tamayo had written the story better than google. So, as you see, in my house elves have 2 hands. So when they use their hands to hide something, they have to leave what they had hidden before. I had some leftover mashed potatoes, mixed them with some flour and put cheese inside. Then I fried them. Delicious! Later I´ll eat another piece of cake. See you.

@marguicha .......That is where the alarm on cell phones would come in handy. I have a really bad memory and so having that alarm option is a life saver.

@celticeagle Both of my daughters have several alarms in their cellphones. I could but I don´t want to learn. I´m in the process of unlearning as much as I can

I am afraid the older I get, the more elves I have here. Once I discovered that my memory is not what it was, I started making lists. But the elves take them and hide them.

It seems the elves come to senior homes but they don´t help as they should.

Well, one day you might as well share the pictures of the Elves in your House !! "leftover mashed potatoes, mixed them with some flour and put cheese inside......" Some Indian snack preparations are pretty similar although they might have Cottage Cheese (Paneer) in them. Sounds like a good book to read. Is the weather getting hotter in your place?

We are heading towards summer. I create recipes with the leftovers I have. It is difficult to cook for one person and many times I have leftovers. Today´s rice omelette included some rice I had in the fridge. I´m sorry that I can´t take pictures of the elves. They hide WITH my things.

There are certain books I love reading to children. Where the Wild Things Are is one of them. I also enjoy anything by Mo Willems. I enjoyed your description.

It is difficult to find good books for children. Some people write books for dumb children and children are not dumb at all.

The book was there for a reason, odd for sure, but hey...you got to read it again after you said you wanted to, so it's all good. There are elves in every house. My son seems to have one that borrows his phone and forgets where it is, so we have to figure out where the elf put it. I am hoping the elf goes away! Cake...sounds so good!
