when i'm cold, i wear my socks like this. that's how i grew up and i always feel like i'm warmer this way even though it looks... well, not aesthetic my husband finds it funny and he's like "oh my God, you Bosnians". so i just wanted to see if this is "just a Bosnian thing" or other people do that too hope you have a nice day

how cold is "cold" where you're from? knowing myself, i'd be rocking those socks in autumn and winter i love having socks on, even during summer - those short ones at least.

@jobelbojel we all live in different parts of the world, it's understandable. 22°C is warm, for our part of the world.

I wear thick or thin socks and slip-on slippers that look like kitties. ?? Did you crochet your slippers? I am thinking about trying to crochet myself some socks one day. I have a few knitting looms that I can use. I love your socks, and I might try this one day. It looks cozy. ??

@aureategloom Yes! I am actually wanting to crochet those very ones. I love the whole slip on type thing and the slipper reference, so I feel they would be a nice thing for me to wear around the house and color coordinate with my pajamas. :)

I don't do such things here, my friend, since we do not have a winter season. Hehehe. However, I am open to trying it when I visit a colder place, which is Baguio City.

@aureategloom Hahaha! I'm not sure how cold it gets, but it could be around 8 degrees Celsius. I've heard it gets really cold from January to March. I'm not sure when I'll go, even though it's only an hour away from here. I want to save some money first. Hahaha!

I used to do that . . . they become like leg warmers - totally effective, right? These days I only have those short ankle less socks, so I can't do that anymore .

@aureategloom Layering up is good in cold weather! We have all hardwood floors, so I do wear 2 sometimes as well . . . even if they are the ankle less socks. Yah, it's never like snow cold here, but I am weak to cold - so to me it's like stepping on a frozen pond .

absolutely effective!! but there are days when it's soo cold that i need another socks well, it's not too cold where you are. ankle less socks are still fine

When I lived in Latvia in northern Europe it was cold in the winter and we had a big house so I wore woolen socks all winter. Now here in the US in Florida I could use some warm socks since the temps here have become cold,

i think it's easier to fight the cold, you just have to dress warm enough.

Strange looking, but it does appear to be an effective way to keep the feet warm. I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to keeping my feet warm. I have a space heater I'll turn on when I'm at my desk. I use furry slippers too or will double up wearing two pair of socks. Hey, its whatever is comfortable and works for you no matter how it might look.

there's no need for this "measure" if it's warm in the house. but outside, in snow - this is a must for me.

I bought a pair of Pajama bottoms that have elastic in the bottom so air doesn't get in when it is cold. Have never worn socks like that, but makes sense. Guess I never thought to do that. Now when I have to wear my other PJ bottoms that don't have elastic, I can stay warm by wearing my socks like that. What a great idea.

I have done that as a child! I felt I was creating a new look with socks , while I was not even 10 at the time. It felt warm during the cold times ( I was living near the desert area and during the end of the year , it was usually cold). Plus , I liked the new fashion I introduced. But then others did not like it and as a child you have limitations on many things you do. But then growing , nope I have not seen the same done by anyone else. So there is a good potential this could be your thing or Bosnian culture . Either ways , it is a coold thing , the way I see it. Well, enjoy the day!

i hate my feet feeling the floor this method helps me to warm up inside, but outside - not even three pairs of socks can help me if i wear some random boots. how cold was is when you visited South Korea before?
