Trump is supposedly considering Kari Lake for ambassador to Mexico

Because of course. Yet another member for his new administration's Island of Misfits. 
She is a former TV journalist with no actual experience in politics (aside from 2 failed campaigns for governor and Senate) and no experience with US-Mexico international relations.
Of course that doesn't matter to Trump. The only qualification that matters to him is that they are loyal to him and they are 2020 election deniers. She agrees with and repeats his many lies. She sucks up to him. She spent so much time at Mar-a-Lago after her election loss that she literally had to be kicked out by his assistants.
So add Kari Lake to the list of absolutely bonkers picks for the administration including people like Matt Gaetz, Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard, Kash Patel, Alina Habba, RFK Jr, etc. I truly am still waiting for him to nominate MTG for something. He hasn't actually nominated Lake yet but I am sure it is only a matter of time.

I honestly don't know if anyone would have beaten Kamala even if there was a primary. Newsom is biding his time for 2028. Who else would have been able to pose a solid alternative against the current Democrat Vice President? I can't think of anyone.
