He is 72. We had dinner last Sunday since his birthday will be on Thursday. Most of us will not be available because of either school or work. And to travel during holiday season is much longer because of the traffic.

He is 72 years young - a happy birthday to your FIL! It's often hard to coordinate all the families to get together . . . good that you were able to celebrate with him earlier.

True, especially when there is work or school. We try to celebrate life as much as possible, just being together having simple dinner to create memories
