I tried calling him twice yesterday. Fortunately he had his phone on. The first time he said he was in physical therapy; the second time it was so hard to understand him that I cut the call short.

He is suffering from sundowners, hospital delirium or dementia. When he is confused, it's hard to understand him.

@LindaOHio he wouldn't be caling during those times. Plus if he has a cell phone, as long as it's on and charged contacts. He wouldn't need to know it.
