Employees who are employed by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) were working on cleaning out catch basins on Monday November 25 when they saw two raccoons who fell into the drain and they were having a hard time staying afloat while the drain was being filled with water from the rain in the area.
The employees of RIDOT were able to rescue the two raccoons by using by fishing them out of the drain and save them from passing away.
The good news is that the two raccoons were able to go home safely. Did the raccoons fall into the drain by accident or were they hurled in there by an act of a heartless human being is not known.

It is good that the raccoons were rescued before they drowned from the incoming water.
