Gas prices down again in California!

Gas prices continue to drop in Northern California. At my "discount" station, a gallon of Regular is $4.25. Don't laugh. Gas prices are always high in California. But when I went to music practice the other day, I found a station in the "semi-'hood" where Regular is only $3.45 if I pay with cash. I thought I was in Montana!
I took @Porwest's Economics class at Trump University. It's about a five mile drive to get to that station. 10 miles round trip. That's more than half a gallon in my truck, which I call "The Beast." About $2.50. But I have a hundred dollar bill in my wallet because I tried to pay my rent with cash. If I buy 20 gallons at the semi-hood station, I will save more than $15. So it's worth it to drive out there.
Are gas prices dropping where you live?

In US and Canada, most folks refer to Petrol as Gas or Gasoline.
So horse is actually talking about the Petrol prices.

Gas prices could go up as much as 0.75 cents a gallon when Trump takes office. I heard this on a podcast. I'm sure glad I don't drive anymore.

@TheHorse .......That's for sure. A lot of it is waiting to see what really takes place.

Somehow the continuing conflicts coupled with a still lower than before demand in China means that the International oil prices would stay in the USD 70 to 80 range.
Plus if the Trump administration decides to pump out more oil from Shale deposits, prices could even drop below 70.
Now that could explain the drop you have seen.
If you want, I can share the link, but I will need to check for it once.

However, increased production from Shale has adverse environmental consequences.

They were never that high to begin with, but 3.45 is a steel in today's market. Down here in Florida that's about what a gallon would run you.

Yes, and I saw a new mobil station that is offering it for 2.53. It isn't really in this area, but I want to go up there on Monday anyway to do some shopping so I will certainly avail myself of that. If I fill up, it should save a lot of money.

No, they just went up. Thankfully, I have the Gas Buddy app, so I was able to get gas 20c a gallon cheaper than the “new” price. Saved $1.70!

Doing the math is always important. It makes a difference and allows us to make better monetary decisions. Most people fail to do that, and the stories abound of people complaining they are victims of the economy when really, they are victims of ignorance. lol
