Do you think Vanny would allow me to do this love song?

As many of you know, @Vandana7 and I very occasionally disagree about what a good song sound like. Especially when it comes to love songs.
Do you think Vanny would allow me to do this song, by Lyle Lovett? It has long been one of my favorite Lyle songs. But I have never tried to learn it or perform it.
I have always wanted to do Lyle's "Creeps Like Me," and I was playing along with it this morning.
But then this song came up, and I remembered how much I like it.
That's enough for now.
Remind me to write about (how I fixed my) my Collings when I got it back from the fix-it shop. It sounded like cr*p.
But just now is sounded great, capoed up, and playing along with Lyle on "Creeps Like Me" and "Nobody Knows Me."
@Porwest, do you know this song? And "Creeps like Me"? You might resonate with that one. I do.
@FourWalls will know both of those songs.

I haven't heard much by Lyle Lovette but I do like this song, I don't see why you couldn't do this song,

Doesn't sound like your kind of song...and it's sooooo slow. Have a good day.

I am quite familiar with "Creeps Like Me." This one, "Nobody Knows Me," is vaguely familiar. I know I have heard it before, but it's been a long time since I have listened. As for Lyle Lovett, I have always been a "closet" fan much in the same way I have always been a "closet" B.J. Thomas fan.
As for whether or not "Creeps Like Me" resonates at all with me, I will let you be the judge of that. As for creative freedom, sometimes you just have to go your own way and let the cards fall their own way and often times that works out for the better.
I am often reminded of Sara Bareilles who her label absolutely insisted that she write a love song, which she adamantly did not want to do. Out of frustration, she wrote a song that became a massive hit called "Love Song," that was all about NOT writing a love song.
I may not have the story entirely correct, but that was the gist of it anyway.
She was happy. The label was happy. And in the end going with her heart, even in a creative way, was something that forced gold.
