That's what I always tell the main office secretaries when they ask if I want to do a class coverage. That's what I always tell the guidance secretaries (at all 3 high schools) when they ask if I want to do homebound tutoring. I'll take as many of them as I can get. Why not earn extra $$ when I already have to be at work or when I'm going to be sitting here at the computer anyway? This week I have 5 hours of homebound tutoring. So far I have done 5 class coverages. That is already $500 in extra earnings. . . and I may have more coverages over the next 2 days. I'm a salaried employee so I don't punch a time clock and I don't get any extra income for putting in extra hours in the course of a regular work day. It isn't like I get done at 2 and stay until 5 to earn overtime. Doing these extra things, though, are easy enough ways to earn some more money. One of the guidance secretaries at another school emailed me this afternoon and offered me another student for 4 hours of tutoring. Sweet!

Lucky you. Now you'll really be able to rock around the Christmas tree even if you don't have one with Adso Charlie and Claire,

I am glad to hear you are getting extra income. Lord knows, teachers deserve more than they get.

I have a friend who tutors full time. She does very well, and is completely maxed out on the number of kids she can handle. I was surprised to hear what parents are willing to pay for private tutors.
