And They Used to Condemn the Hippies

..for their communes and all. Now these Boulder snobs are buying up expensive mansions in Denver (like the Starkey Mansion) if you don't mind, not Boulder, and converting them into something called 'Cooperative Housing'. And it is also being labeled as affordable housing. Affordable for who? And they are destroying historical landmarks, like this Butler school. And they're calling their destruction The People's Mansion, oh really now? And a cooperative effort is no more than a fancy name for a commune. Pfft! Out of touch snobs, can't stand 'em. Anyway, did you ever live in a commune? Were you a hippie too?
The Boulder Housing Coalition plans to renovate what they've dubbed the People's Mansion into a 19-bedroom co-op.

I was never a hippy but some of our friends have names that could only have come from hippy parents.

I loved the hippee era. Didn't live in a commune, but sure loved their music. I did get to go to the Whiskey A go go. So cool.

It was such a colorful era. The clothing in particular was made of such vibrant patterns. I liked some of the music too. I was a child during that time frame.

That is happening to a lot of pubs in this area, well that and mini markets. I saw a YouTube video about defunct malls being turned into apartments, in the US

It's interesting to see the hippies in the Cooperative Housing for a commune. Have a good day!

My cousin was a hippy and she enjoyed that life style until she got married and had twins.

What is going on with your state! Crazy! Will this be affordable housing for the massive number of illegal migrants flooding into Colorado? Never lived in a commune but give me that free Hippie lovin'!
