Health Matters: Lessons from Marie Kondo's Quotes

I haven't really looked up to Marie Kondo or have known that much about her. But I know how clutter around us can clutter the mind and body. Here are my thoughts about decluttering based on her insightful quotes:
"Storage experts are hoarders."
- Those who are good at organizing and storing things might actually be keeping too many items. Instead of getting rid of unnecessary stuff, they just find ways to store it neatly. Yep, guilty as charged.
"Discard first, store later."
- It's about prioritizing what to keep and making sure I don't hold on to unnecessary item. Good luck to me.
"Tidying is the act of confronting yourself."
- It's not just about making things neat. It's about understanding why I keep certain things and letting go of what I don't need. Of course, I'm trying.
"Once you have experienced what it’s like to have a truly ordered house, you’ll feel your whole world brighten."
- Having a clean and organized space makes me feel happier and more positive. But again, I can't do that much if I'm working from home and got no one else to depend to.
"Tidying orders and relaxes the mind."
- When I clean and organize my space, it helps me feel calmer and more focused. Well, at least, I try to organize the clutter around me.
It sure is true that having lots of storage doesn't mean having a clutter-free space. I do get rid of things I don't need but not before organizing, only when the time and energy permits. But yeah, whenever I do some tidying, it helps me understand my habits and decisions.

I bought Marie Condo's book and read it. She lost me when she said you don't need more than 30 books and you will never read them again. That is her way, not mine. She also said that you should be able to keep everything in your closet. Right!!!
I watch an episode of Hoarders for cleaning inspiration. Then I toss and clean like crazy and give away things.

I don't read that much but collecting books as part of an investment is a different thing. I still need more but I stopped collecting because there's not enough space. I do try to keep everything in a closet. But if it doesn't, I try letting some of my stuff go. If I can't, then I try to make them fit

@piyoz000 I don't collect books. I read them and then sometime in the future, I read them again. I get different things from books each time I read them. I don't care if Marie Condo likes my books or not. I can't keep everything in the closet.

Same here. It's a thing we call our own without thinking about what others think about it.

It's great that you took time to read her book. Her ways sure can change lives, but not like forever and it still depends on how the day runs. I can be busy in some days and all the clutter builds up. The next few days I'd rather spend it on self-care like catching up on sleep. It will take me longer than expected to clear the clutter again.
