Escambia County Animal Welfare Sergeant Merideth Roberson answered an emergency call from animal lover who is employed by the Escambia County Sheriff's Office who heard a kitten meowing from a drainage pipe near the Escambia Regional Juvenile Detention Center on Tuesday November 26. Officer Roberson put on a headlamp and crawled 50 yards into the drainpipe to rescue the kitten. The kitten was then taken by Officer Roberson to the Escambia County Animal Shelter to be checked by a veterinarian and be placed up for adoption. How did the kitten wind up in the drainpipe is a mystery. Link is upi.com/2371732729812 via @ upi

It wouldn't have been very pleasant crawling through a drainpipe.

The officer credited her training to be able to rescue the kitten in the drainpipe even though it did scare Officer Roberson.

How do these cats do these things, I mean we have about two cats here that roam about outside, They stay on the property, they might go under the porch, and then back inside but never have to be rescued from anything,

That looks like a cute kitten, and it was good that it was rescued, before a rain event might have washed it away.
