Memory Keeper

The memories that come back to me this time of year are gloriously sumbline. They are about my uncle who died in an auto accident many moons ago, about the Christmas I have enjoyed all down through the years, and of the people I have known, and even about my exes and the Christmases I have spent with them.
I am an only child. I was lucky to have known both my paternal and maternal grandparents. I have some wonderful memories. But, again, I am an only child.
Now I am the keeper of all those memories. I have no sisters or brothers to share in it. Just me. I am the keeper of the memories. When I am gone they will be gone too. That thought is rather sad. I will be sharing some of them with you from time to time.
Do you have siblings? Those who will share in the memory keeping for your family? How do you feel about all this? Are there precious moments from your past you'd like to be able to reminisce about, those special times that tug at your heartstrings when you think of them?

It sounds like you have some very precious memories.
I do also.
I have 3 brothers, none of which communicate with any of the rest of us except for 1 older brother who will send me the odd text wishing me a happy whatever day it is, birthday, Thanksgiving.......

I lost my sibling and parents to an accident. I can understand what you are going through. I have gone through traumas .It was tough and dark times. Well, we all have lives to carry on. One thing I do is write diary and my thoughts and things. It helps me keep sane , certain times when I get emotional about the moments just in my mind. It is true once we are gone , the memories are gone. However, the only way we can keep them alive is from journals or videos or audios. Something smilar to Anne Frank. People would always remember or read those. You can think of the suggested idea. Take care!

I am an only child as well. Believe me, its better that way. Yeah, I have grown up reserved and not an extrovert, but, I always have had my parents', grandparents' full attention. You can always pass down these memories to your children.
