Dream about a Lion

The other night, I dreamed that I owned a lion. it was a big old African lion, an adult but not very old. It lived in our yard which was fenced in. I got the feeling that the neighbors did not like it. It made a funny noise that sounded like a meow. That woke me up and I never found out what the neighbors thought for real. Did you ever dream about a lion? What could it mean? What kind of dreams do you have and do you think they mean anything?

Unless a dream wakes me up, I don't remember them the next day. Dreaming about a lion is... different. Maybe you just want another kitty?

@pitstop Yes, there are. We have two normal-sized house cats living here and they are enough. Sometimes, they are almost too much.

I'm not sure. The litter box would take up most of a room. The meat bill would be huge. If it started scratching the furniture, it would be bad. The neighbors for sure would not like it being next door to them.

Sometimes I can work out reasons why I've had a particular dream but mostly they're sort of random.

I do not dream about lions that much. Maybe you saw a television show that had lions or maybe you like lions a lot like I dream about being in my former neighborhood in Metairie Louisiana seeing the 17th street canal.

Are you homesick for your old place? Maybe it is time to go back and visit for a day or two.

@Deepizzaguy I'm sorry to hear that. Hurricane Milton blasted us. It was right after Hurricane Helene and did a lot of damage near us and in the place I used to live. There were already great piles of debris that were not collected yet. Fortunately, our house was okay but the carport fell on cars and there was an alligator under someone's car. Fun times here in Florida.

I never dreamed about a lion. I have very strange dreams that fall into about 6 or 7 categories. Have a good weekend,

Are you ever surprised by a dream? I never dreamed of a lion before. I was surprised and it was so real that I think it is still here somewhere, maybe behind the couch eating our chicken for dinner.

@LindaOHio I keep dreaming about this guy who wanted a relationship like 50 years ago. I said no but keep wondering what it would be like if I said yes. And also a boyfriend I had that long ago. He was the only one who ever sang to me or wrote poetry for me. Why did I let him go? I can't remember.

@akalinus Yes, I have an occasional dream about a guy who was very special in my life more than 50 years ago. I let him slip out of my life...he was a good friend and possibly could have been more.

It was a weird sound that I have never heard before. I think it sounded more like a sheep but that is not exactly it either. I'm happy that it made you laugh.

Just this morning I dreamed my Mazda was making noise while I drove and I pulled over on a sloped shoulder. My van pulled up right beside me (no one driving) and I decided I just needed to trade the batteries. I could not find my phone in my purse and then these three guys pulled up and offered to fix it for fifty cents, but I felt threatened. Then I woke up.

It is a good thing your van showed up to bring you a battery. You woke up because you felt threatened. I think it is a good thing you got out of that dream before anything horrible happened.

Strange I never dreamt about a lion. Here is what it says on the net Dreaming of a lion can have different meanings123: Courage, strength, and personal power: A lion may represent these qualities within yourself or others. Facing challenges: It can hint at a situation that requires you to muster courage and tackle it head-on. Confidence, manifestation, assertiveness: Seeing a lion may signify taking control of your life. Good luck: Generally, dreaming of a lion is considered a positive sign. Warning: However, there are times when a lion appearing in your dreams may reflect a negative mindset or situation.

@Rasma There certainly are challenges and some things need to change. Maybe that is the meaning. I never dreamed about a lion before that I can remember.

Seems your mind was working overtime. Have you been to the zoo lately? Have you had any noise issues with your neighbors? Funny the strange things that might happen in dreams. I don't think I've ever dreamt about animals. I remember many dreams where someone was chasing me though. Fun dream fact: If you look into a mirror while dreaming you won't see your image in it. We are unable to read in our dreams that means making out the lettering on signs too.

It is usually quiet here but there are apartments across the road where there are always cops, medical vehicles, or police. It is pretty noisy over there. The neighbors here are nice for the most part.

No;never.I have seen a lion in a jungle when I had been to a village through a jungle around 40 kms from here.We saw a lion crossing the road.My brother pulled the break. When the beast disappeared in a bush ;we moved further. I have read lions are naturally lazy. It is the lioness who mostly hunts animals and feeds the whole lion family.

Yes, the male lions just lie around waiting for the lioness to bring dinner. What would they do if the lionesses only hunted for themselves and tell the males to go find their own food?

I only dreamed I owned a lion. It is not really there. I would never be allowed to own an animal over 20 pounds where I live.
