Today I thrifted, a little

I got some good deals at the thrift shop, but what is really surprising, or maybe not, is the number of school employees/teachers who were also there.
I think we thrift for two reasons: 1. Our pay check needs to stretch. 2. We are smart enough to find and use a bargain.
The people I saw today were not even the ones that I usually see.
And there were lots of Christmas sales.

You are a good shopper. You find nice things at your auctions, too.

The hospital auxiliary in the town where I work has really great stuff. That is where I went. Our senior center does not have one.

I prefer church indoor outdoor yard sales over thrift stores, but there is a pretty good one South of here owned by the church

None of the churches near here have had sales since the pandemic. Yes, they get great donations and they go to a good cause. This was the hospital auxiliary I shopped at this week.

@GardenGerty The one church south of here has a permanent store site. The other one does, but it is only open one day a week and is kind an inside, outside venue. It is large.

You're lucky... The thrift store here closed about a year ago. We'd have to drive to Springfield (about 50 miles) to get to a thrift store now.
I'm glad you got some good deals.

That is sad. I get a lot of the anchor hocking storage bowls, or pyrex. People get rid of them because they ruin the plastic lids. I just order more lids on Amazon. I am trying to use less plastic storage and more glass.

@GardenGerty We have a few of the pyrex bowls but I didn't know Amazon had lids that would fit them.
I don't like the glass bowls as well. They're too slippery when I'm washing them.

I love my pyrex storage bowls. People bake the lids in their dishwashers, or cook the lids in the microwave, and ruin them. And yes, I have purchased more lids on Amazon, when I thrift a good pyrex bowl, I have a lid. Like you say, anything to use less plastic, and I will not heat up leftovers in plastic, anyway.

That is great. I like the two closest to me in our county. I have been to some that were just sad.

I am wearing a warm two piece stretch denim pantsuit right now. It is a nice somewhat high end brand of ladies' wear.

I'm sometimes surprised by the people I see in thrift stores.

I love thrifting... sometimes it's better luck than other times. But I'm glad you were able to find some good stuff. I went to Goodwill this evening and found a cool lamp and really cool hoodie for good prices. I was happy when I left.

I especially like the clothes I get. My job can be hard on clothes, but I can look good and be comfortable for less and not worry too much. I have had my eye on an interesting lamp but I do not have a real place for it.
