How a stoplight cost me five days of MyLot earnings!

When I am driving, I like to amuse myself by singing songs in my head (or out loud) or by doing silly math calculations.
Today I decided to go to Guitar Center a couple of minutes early. I get paid by the hour, and a couple of extra minutes is a bit of extra change. Remember that I took @Porwest's Economics class at Trump University.
But as I was about to get to Guitar Center, my nemesis stoplight was green, several hundred yards ahead of me. I knew what this meant: If I was going to make that stoplight, I would have to accelerate like heck, and probably run a yellow light (legal in my country).
My (usually) chill demeanor means that I have really good parking space mojo. Just relax. I always find a parking space. Even near Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
But of course my stoplight mojo sucks. I drive slightly too slowly and cautiously for California. Stop lights almost always turn red just as I am approaching them.
I probably could have run the red ight without getting a ticket. But I did not.
It turned red before I could get to the "officer it was yellow when I initiated my right turn" zone.
I have counted that stoplight before It is a two minute wait from that direction. To amuse myself, I calculated how much money I was losing at Guitar Center because of my bad stoplight mojo in this instance.
It came out to about five days of MyLot earnings.
Dang!
I am resigned to my fate.
I have been binge listening to this grunge song from the 1990s recently.

Yes, but better play it safe. Stop lights are the bane of my and George's existance. When he was driving. We have at least one or two that won't do anything if your tire isn't on this white line thing. And GGeorge's had to go out in traffic and tell people to move forward a little.

I'm glad you didn't get arrested for stopping at a red light.

Glad you didn't run a red light. That could have cost more

Not quite my kind of music, My problem now is waiting for Payday because I don't know if I reached the minimum on time or not but now I am already a buck over the minimum but it might be part of the payment for the next time, Guess I have to wait and see,

@RasmaSandra You can check your earnings for this month and subtract it from your total earnings.

That's funny that you mentioned your bad stoplight mojo. I have the same problem. No matter how hard I try, I can never time my approaches to get through an intersection when the light is green or yellow. I have the worst luck in that department. But like you, I make up for it with my parking mojo. For some reason I always find the one open spot at the front of the parking lot, even when I'm not really trying.

@TheHorse it is certainly odd. And I wish I could switch it to where I had good luck with green lights and bad luck with parking spaces. Because I actually don’t care about parking in the back of a lot and walking the distance to the store.

At least you didn't get a ticket. We are bleeding money at this time; so I don't need anything else to happen. Knock on wood. Have a good weekend.

You think of pay the same way I always have...by the minute, not by the hour, and so in that way you and I have something in common. Now all you'd have to do in a situation like that to make up for the calamity is to stay the required minutes extra after the shift.

i can't think of any odd things that cost me money, but there probably are some.

Last week, I had an important meeting. Before I could arrive at the venue , my tyre got punctured .I suspected a complete bust ,but it was puncture . I lost time and money and that did cause me embarassement in workplace. Net effect: I could not login to mylot for next 6 days due to workload as well as getting things done to make up for the meeting. So , in a way we have a similarity that we lost money in unfortunate ways. There are many instances I have lost money in unfortunate ways. So , yes I am in the league of people who lost money due to odd things ever. Have a great weekend!
