I've never had bed bugs, but they are easy to get rid of based on my research for them. It's just real tedious. Roaches on the other hand are harder because they hide and become imune to traps and poisions. Plus those poisions are toxic to pets and people. Roaches is just something I've learned to deal with and just try to keep areas clean.

Thank you. A friend of mine told me about a roach infestation, and it sounded like a nightmare!! When you say getting rid of bedbugs is tedious, what do you mean? What sounds like the most tedious part?
Thanks again.

@danishcanadian Acccording to my research when I wanted to find out if I had bed bugs or not, I learned they can easily be killed by extreme heat. But it can be a tedious process because they like to hide in noks and crannies and you have to treat everything. Not to mention washing everything. It's a lot of work to ensure you don't miss something.
Yes roaches can be. But when you live in Florida, it's almost a guarentee you'll encounter them.

Most likely, the ones you are dealing with are American cockroaches as opposed to German ones. The Germans are far harder to deal with, but American and German come from different circumstances and situations. I know in Florida, it's almost impossible to avoid getting American cockroaches. They are not as associated with filth like German cockroaches are. The Americans simply thrive in tropical climates and are ubiquitous in Florida, even in the most luxurious homes where you'd never see German cockroaches except in extreme situations and usually by accident.

i've never had bedbugs, but i know that cockroaches are difficult to deal with. we used to set powder around the windows and the door, but then they started coming in through the bathtub. we would just find one stuck in the bathtub because he couldn't get out. maybe that's just slavic thing when you live in old buildings

From my experience, having worked in pest control in another life, cockroaches are far more difficult to deal with. Part of the issue is that beg bugs can be easily eradicated, and most of the time when someone gets beg bugs, it's not a filth issue. On the other hand, cockroaches are all about filth, and once they get in, it's a real mess getting rid of them. Treatment methods are also far more difficult when it comes to cockroaches. They are MUCH harder to kill and get rid of and require a TON more cooperation by people to do their part to get rid of them.
